I absolutely love CrazyGuyOnABike.com. It’s by far the best resource for bike touring information. Nothing else comes remotely close: not the Facebook groups, not the ACA forums, not Reddit.
But it has one big problem. Neil Gunton, who created and runs the site, has locked it down so tightly that some readers can’t get in at all. That includes people behind certain corporate firewalls and tools like IFTTT. They just get the dreaded 403 Forbidden error.
That was immensely frustrating during my 2026 Route 66 tour, so I decided to do something about it.
I’m not moving my blogs off CrazyGuyOnABike. That’s still where they primarily live. But I’ve mirrored them to a WordPress site, and when I do another tour (yay!), new entries will show up on the mirror too.
I don’t care which one people use. The WordPress version should work for everyone, though, including tools like IFTTT and FeedBurner.
