Shaun Rides His Bike

I’ve decided to cut my Route 66 tour short.

I lost a lot of time on the first half due to wind (and other weather), and, after spending a week waiting for the crazy wind to subside, my motivation has diminished, and I’ve concluded I just don’t want to ride through the Mojave in June.

So I am going to leave Albuquerque in a rental car, drive to San Diego and spend a few days with friends there, then drive home to Seattle.

I will finish Route 66 on my bicycle, but not now. I might do it this fall, though, so I am not closing the blog!

I appreciate everyone’s support. The wind made this a challenging tour, and the support from all of my friends made the portion I did complete MUCH more fun!
