Day 28: Weatherford, OK to Foss, OK

Today’s ride was again peaceful and glorious. The wind wasn’t as bad as I feared, and it was much cooler than yesterday!

I met Hank, who is riding east on Route 66 and we talked for a long time. I can talk about bikes indefinitely, so I had to drag myself away, but it is really fun running into other tourists!

When I was getting close to my KOA campground stop, I went under an Interstate overpass, and the air was suddenly filled with birds. They had built nests out of mud under the overpass, and there were hundreds of them!

I only planned to ride 34 miles today, because the wind forecast looked really bad, but I forgot to stop and get breakfast supplies on the way, so I had to double back to find a convenience store.
