Day 25: Chandler, OK to Edmond, OK

Today’s ride was uneventful, again without many Route 66-related attractions.

Most of it was on busy, narrow roads with fast traffic and no shoulders, but, again, drivers have been mostly careful.

It is very nerve-wracking, however. My focus is split between staying on the road and avoiding obstacles and peering in my (excellent) rear-view mirror and planning emergency escapes. Although drivers have been really safe, it only takes one idiot passing too close, or one distracted driver to ruin it. So I keep watching…

I find that the closer you get to cities, the more impatient and aggressive people become.
