Today I had a gentle tailwind 90% of the day! The sun was out, it was warm, but not hot. And the roads were pretty quiet! A perfect day to ride!
There wasn’t much Route 66 to see, despite spending most of the day on the actual route.
I saw the Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum, but it was kind of early, and I am just not a big “car person,” so I kept going.
I did stop at the beautifully preserved Rock Café and visited their gift shop. I had already had lunch, though, so I missed an opportunity to try it.
For the first time, I am staying in a real Route 66 motel: The Lincoln Motel in Chandler, OK, and the room is really cozy and nice!
